Jill Painter is a sports columnist for the Los Angeles Daily News, where she has worked for the last 10 years. Painter wrote as many John Wooden stories as she could over the last decade. She had the privilege to chat with him in his Encino condo, have breakfast at his favorite restaurant, and glean his wisdom over the many events he attended, like his school and post office renaming, namesake basketball tournament, chats with UCLA students and UCLA basketball games. Painter has covered everything from UCLA and USC to the Dodgers and golf. She also covers the Los Angeles Lakers. Painter is a graduate of the University of Colorado.
