"we're only in it for the music" The Zappateers are dedicated collectors of Zappa live shows. An enormously large number of FZ shows were recorded legitimately by Zappa himself, and are stored in the vault at the family home. Over the years some of these tapes have ‘leaked’ into the hands of collectors. A remarkably large number of Zappa shows were recorded, with varying degress of success, by fans and professional bootleggers in the audience, and this forms the basis of the Zappateers collection. To keep FZ's music alive the Zappateers not only collect this stuff, they listen to the shows every sunday.
