This is a great scene. It's not a show stealer--it's the first we meet of Friar Lawrence, a really interesting character. He's not as entertaining as the Nurse or Mercution, and he's not as extreme as Romeo and Juliet. In fact, quite the oppostie, he represents and discusses balance, the middle road, la via media. Please consider how Friar Lawrence is also a naturalist, an oddity, no, for a man of the cloth.
Enjoy!
