Todays show is a mix of Spacekamp the band and Spacekamp the movie and some tunes that made people dance and make out until 4am on a Tuesday when I DJ'ed the drummers' 30th at Black Betty, which was last night as I type this.
I woke up at 1pm with 2 hours to have the show done and uploaded for airplay in Canada. Oh Spaceshit ! It finished uploading 10 minutes too late and they aired a repeat.

Live Again

I was finally live again - a test show for EastVillageRadio.com

The show ran for 2 hours, and I spent an hour and a half trying to work the phone system.

What actually worked - is what you end up hearing.

What is really cool here is that the show was simulcast on the CJSR FM airwaves -

internet and fm collide, history in the making, and you know - at least 10 people heard it.

Behind the Scenes w King Khan

August ago I saw King Khan & The Shrines at Don Pedro's, but I spent most of the set in the back of Crypt Records with Tim Warren, you can hear in the clips about his first DJ gig among some other stuff (it's very lo-fi so listen, HARD) and outside with the guy who drove King Khans' tour bus, Andy Dale Petty.

The Night Owls, The Montauk Monster & kids.

Well, I've settled into the ghetto here in a major way by djing a set and making t-shirts for the kids. Whatever beats Williamsburg right?

This week we had twins on the show ! The boys of the Night Owls came by and we talked about Gargoyles, the movie Twins, and I tested them on their DC + Marvel knowledge.

Madness as usual but great fun. Here's some pictures of the studio and a playlist will be up soon.

up like the Jetsons and went for a drink in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
The tape recorder picked up something that ended up sounding

04/08 Trapped in the American Apparel

Yo it's Sheri Barclay here.
I've been traveling across the States getting into trouble, dj-ing,
and interviewing bands.
I've traveled on a plane, a Greyhound, the AMtrak and a van and ended
up back here in Brooklyn where I've been couch surfing.
Yes, I just sublet my apartment out in Canada where I've been living and
said fuck it, I'm staying in the States.
With little money and no job. But I'm working on it.
I tried to fit this all into one Barclay hour but it was just too much audio.
As I was uploading said audio to the computer here at Viva Radio, I
became trapped. You see, Viva Radios' studio is in an old projection booth
in an American Apparel store which used to be a movie theater, so it's easy
to feel like you're not in the store, and it's easy for the store to forget you're
there, and before you know it it's 4am and the store doesn't open for another
7 hours and what else is there to do but make a radio show?
Oh right, I didn't really know how to use the studio, so I rigged up my own
mic system.
Oh it's such a longer story than that. Stay tuned in the weeks to come'.
This is true crazy radio coming at ya from....somewhere.
