Last Thursdays is an ongoing residency hosted by Seequill and Dick Pizza happening every month at Bar4 in South Slope. Currently the co-hosts are expanding on the concept of the residency and looking for bands. They are booking several months out, but space is limited to two bands per night. . Past performers have included The Nasty Midnighters, The Mast, Dollar Coffee, Ami Dang, Hektor Fontanez from Twi the Humble Feather, and many more.. The Ugly Club's Kickstarter campaign went live on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 and will be running for 30 days, allowing fans to help fund the release of their upcoming full-length record. Ryan Egan, singer/songwriter of The Ugly Club says, âWith this campaign weâre basically asking our fan base to become our record label. We donât have any financial support from a label or production company and this is such a sweet way to team up with the people who care about us and make our music possible.â The band has been tirelessly recording the new album since the Fall at Soundwaves Studios in Union, NJ and are anxious to release it to the public. âWe have tons of new songs and a lot to give and are just really looking forward to putting this record out,â Egan says. âWe are hoping that this album encompasses New Jersey for our generation and can be regarded highly on the list of our stateâs best musical contributions.â The campaign will be online at Kickstarter.com for all of February and anyone can help out. 'The Astronauts' have begun something special in Philadelphia. Our sound is so new and refreshing, making us something to pay attention to for 2012. Instead we stay true to what is real to us and what we think Hip-Hop is all about: being fly and talking about real life experiences; with our own superior production and unrivaled lyricism. The Ugly Club has recently announced they will be doing a tour down to SXSW this March. The band has confirmed a show at The National Underground in Nashville, TN on March 10th and Super Happy Fun Land in Houston, TX on March 13th, with more dates and SXSW plans TBA. The band has also released 2 live, in-studio music videos of new songs off their upcoming album.
